One thing that has made a tremendous impact in my life is hip-hop and R&B. I remember growing up listening to Ghetto Gospel and Changes on repeat (My Dad is a huge Tupac fan). On the drive home from school, I remember my mum passionately singing along to any Whitney Houston song. It is kind of amazing how something as simple as a genre of music can make a difference in one's life. This year alone hip-hop is bringing so much social awareness from Beyonce's Formation video to Kendrick Lamar's Grammy performance. I love seeing music influence people positively and being a voice for the voiceless.
Sorry about my whole mushy emotional rant but this outfit and background made me think of how much hip-hop culture as influenced me and in some ways made me proud of who I am.
