Late last year, when I heard @beyonce was releasing an album highlighting African & Caribbean artists and producers I was beyond excited for their talent to take the main stage. This year, she completed the project with a visual album. Throughout this project, she hired African and Black creatives from choreographers, designers all the way to directors. There is power in investing in a community, creating jobs as well as showcasing talent that is usually overlooked.
‘Black is King’ inspired my friends and I to come together and create. This photoshoot is dear to my heart because it is a glimpse of what I hope to see more of in the future. To see more people of color in spaces and careers that can produce great success and stability.
