“Drifting,”
I say drifting because I am not drowning but I am not exactly swimming. Okay, okay! I need to stop being so melodramatic. I am happy and honestly life is good but I am a little stressed (but that is nothing new). I honestly believe if you are not a little bit stressed then you are not doing something that motivates or is important to you. I’ve mentioned in the past that I am very involved with a lot of organizations and leadership roles on my college campus. Now, that this semester is getting closer to the end a lot of things are starting to pile up. An enormous mountain of deadlines, meetings, articles to write, presentations, exams… this list could go on forever.
The beauty of fall always turns my frown upside down. The leaves flutter to the ground, coffee is in high demand, and the sound of boots hit the concrete. Besides the craziness that is university, a lot as been happening with my family. There have been more lows than highs. My trick is to surround myself with caring and loving people, eat whatever I want and to pray. Prayer is one of those underrated forms of relaxation. When I pray it is not this “elaborate routine”. It can be as simple as sitting in the bus and making a mental note to myself and to God. I sound insane but trust me, it works! I am going to leave you all with this verse,
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
- Philippians 4:6
