PODCASTS TO LISTEN TO | Storytelling & Comedy

Recently, I have been listening to an unhealthy amount of podcasts and I wanted to share them with you. Check out my detailed youtube video on each podcast were I sample an audio clip to give you guys a taste of what each show has to offer. I wholeheartedly love each of these podcasts and I highly recommend you check them out. I think these are the best podcasts of 2019… well I can only speak for myself for I’ll say best podcasts of my 2019.  These are perfect for your commute to work, while cleaning or whenever you want to be honest. Check them out!

BLACKOUT: Academy Award® winner Rami Malek stars in this apocalyptic thriller as a small-town radio DJ fighting to protect his family and community after the power grid goes down nationwide, upending modern civilization.

CARRIER: What happens when a truck driver picks up a loaded trailer, but has no idea what’s really inside? Tony, Grammy, and Emmy award winner Cynthia Erivo journeys down a dark and lonely highway in this original scripted thriller from QCODE and creator Dan Blank. With immersive audio techniques that create a dimensional listening experience, the audience is strongly advised to use caution, wear headphones if possible, and listen... carefully.

EARTHBREAK: After everyone she's ever known was killed in an alien invasion, Lynn Gellert (Jenny Slate) might be the last person left on Earth. Her constant and only companion is the voice recorder she managed to salvage from her mother's house. As symptoms of a strange illness seem to set in, Lynn comes to terms with her mortality, only to realize that she's not sick, she's pregnant. Lynn is not a survivalist, or even good at camping, but somehow she has to find what it takes to confront a dangerous and uncertain future

TALES: You think you know the story…But do you really? Every other Saturday, Tales presents ancient fairy tales the way they were originally told: orally, and unadulterated. Tales is part of the Parcast Network and is a Cutler Media production.

THE HABITAT: On a remote mountain in Hawaii, there's a fake planet Mars. Six volunteers are secluded in an imitation Mars habitat where they will work as imitation astronauts for one very real year. The goal: to help NASA understand what life might be like on the red planet—and plan for the day when the dress rehearsals are over, and we blast off for real. Host Lynn Levy has been chronicling this experiment from the moment the crew set foot in their habitat, communicating with them through audio diaries that detail their discoveries, their frustrations, and their evolving and devolving relationships with each other. From those diaries, Gimlet Media has crafted an addictive serialized documentary: the true story of a fake planet.

PASSING THROUGH: Nneka Julia shares revelations and wisdom collected through travel, conversation, and self-education.

THE RECEIPTS: #TheReceiptsPodcast is a fun, honest podcast fronted by three girls who are willing to talk about anything and everything. From relationships to situationships to everyday life experiences, you can expect unadulterated girl talk with no filter.

RANDOM ORDER: The best comedy podcast about nothing and something sometimes. Jae and Trey Richards sit with Sheldon Sabastian to cover music, pop culture, motorcycle tools, zombie deers, whatever else comes to mind and also freestyle off the dome when necessary.
